There has been some wonderful sunshine over the last week. But it remains very cold. A real bite in the wind..but wrap up warm and its very refreshing.

Hope it lasts until the weekend so we can get out, get some fresh air and run around...

Just a quick late post. Had an after work meeting which meant I got home late. Thought I'd share this image. Isabelle certainly likes to try and copy anything she sees...

Nesting....

Spent the evening - chasing Isabelle, building a crib, hanging a mobile and moving furniture to accomodate the impending arrival....(then moving it all back again)

So I think we are ready. Baby, you can arrive when you want, we just ask for a bit of advance notice so that we can get the kettle on for a cuppa.....

Monday.....back to work........

It's starting to feel like winter is really here for a while. It's been quite strange as mild days have been mingled with very cold days....ice appears now and then, but is not around for long.
The weekend was pretty nippy, but the week ahead promises to warmer. We've finally got into the habit of checking the weather before going out, as to an Englishman clear blue skies suggest nice warm weather. But this is not the case, so a quick look out of the window leaves you completely misinformed about what to put on before heading out.

No storms in the city to speak of yet...hopefully that will remain the case until the baby arrives.....

The Oddy's took a trip to the New York Aquarium today (in Coney Island). It was a lot of fun. We got an early start and so it was pretty quiet until around lunch time.

Isabelle loved it...leading us all around from one exhibit the next and then back again....almost every orange fish was called "Nemo" and every blue one "Dory"...Bless her...

From there we headed home and spent the afternoon in Park Slope. Late in the day I left mummy to rest and popped around to see Jennie and Emma. Emma and Izzy are 2 weeks apart in age. They are always excited in each others company. They seemed to have a great time running around giggling and squealing. It was very sweet.

Its all about burgers....

So, Saturday night in...Izzy was very tired after a busy day which included swimming, playground, testing out a new stroller and generally lots of running around.

We rented a film and turned to Jamie Oliver to supply the food. "Botham Burgers".Truly outstanding....You can't beat Jamie...just good fresh home cooked food and generally, pretty straight forward recipes. So much so that I cooked to relieve Caroline for the night....
Washed down with a few bottles of Guiness, as suggested by the man himself...
Pucker..as Mr Oliver would say....

Here she is.....our wonderful daughter Isabelle. She got a great nights sleep ( and as a result so did we). This put her in a great mood straight out of bed.....

She's a happy little soul. Today was parent teacher day at her little school. She goes a couple of days each week to a nursery class....and loves it..

Caroline went and spoke with the teachers....all good news....although they say she's quiet at school. This is unlike home where she has boundless energy...

She just runs and runs........incredible......She gave me a lovely welcome hug when i got home from work, shouting "Daddy your home!"
We love her dearly....

Spent the morning at home to help Caroline out a little. Isabelle was running her ragged so I decided to go into work late and look after Izzy while Caroline sorted some pregnancy stuff out. More medical appointments this week as the big day gets closer....

Part of the morning activity included moving the car from one side of the street to the other...one of the nuances of living in Brooklyn...alternate side parking so that the road sweepers can do their thing.

We've slowly got the hang of this local knowledge and now think more carefully about what day it is when we park the car.....I'd heard this becomes part of your weekly planning. It's true....

Still, small price to pay for the felixibilty of having the car...

Into work early this morning. Had a lot on my mind, couldn't sleep and a long list of things to do. Trying to get ahead of things so that I can take some real time off when the baby arrives ...

Got into the office so early, there were only a few places open to get a cup of coffee.....
Tip toed out of the house to avoid leaving Caroline with Isabelle awake too early...think I managed...

Isabelle has stopped napping in the day, so waking her too early leaves Caroline with a long day to take care of her..and there's no school at the moment too.....

Managed to get a lot done despite my day being messed up with a late change in a meeting I had planned.

So, here is the little fella/lady...(we do not know what sex the baby be will be)....

I think they look beautiful together.....its been a long 8 months for Mummy, though Isabelle, has been a great little helper....she'll make a lovely BIG SISTER.......

So, here it is...the blog debut........Boy, this stuff makes me feel old......(And really I'm not)

Anyway, brief intro...Caroline, Isabelle and I have a second baby due any day now....

With family all overseas and lots of friends there too, it seemed to make sense to set this up and allow them to stay in touch with what we are up to....normally accompanied by an image (I have taken up the challenge of becoming more creative with photo's to document what the 4oddy's are up to).

The plan is to try and post daily, allowing me a quiet moment of reflection of family life......

So enjoy....
