Lunch with the family....

A real first and a very proud moment. We all shared a delicious Italian lunch. Izzy shared my spaghetti meatballs....loved it...

Toby got hungry during the meal, so asked to be fed too.

Very nice.....looking forward to the weekend..
Busy Week...

Supposed to be on vacation this week, but that didn't work out too well. Had a couple of projects with awkward deadlines. We also moved the office location which took all of Thursday evening..

It was a huge job....

This girl has some energy... Who knows where she gets it...non stop and mid afternoon nap is a thing of the past...boy how we miss it....

She's great around Toby though, very gentle and very intereseted in what he is up to...

Frequent comments from Izzy are "Whats matter withToby", when we hear a cry for food

Or "Maybe Toby poo poo" When he is crying and we say "He's only just been fed !"

All good stuff....

Thanks to all....

For your well wishes, flowers, cards, gifts and messages on the arrival of Toby James.

Toby has quickly settled into family life, is feeding well and dealing with his big sister .....

Caroline is back out and about in Park Slope and we are looking forward to some family time this week. I have taken the week off to be at home and am really looking forward to it.....
As you can imagine, it's been a little hectic in the Oddy's house over the last few days, so the blogposts dried up a little. Not only did we have a new baby to take care of, but also a birthday to celebrate on the 22nd.

So here are the two stars of the week....

Rubbish....that's what was on TV tonight, just rubbish...

Thank goodness for TiVo (Sky Plus type deal).....started watching the current season of LOST which we recorded a couple of weeks ago....

TiVo also allows us to skip countless ads too...Does anyone watch ads anymore....??

Double update today.....woo hoo..

We got snow last night......started mid afternoon, settled for a while, but melted overnight (which was actually a good thing, since we won't have to deal with the slush for days)

Traffic was carnage around 6ish everyone slipping and sliding around. Gridlock on 7th Ave. So we were hoping baby would wait until later this week to arrive....
Quick post....funny story....

Izzy is eagerly awaiting her new brother/sister (as we all are).

A number of boxes have been arriving with various new baby items in preparation for the new family member. As they arrive we try to explain what they are....New clothes for baby or nappies for baby.. etc

Today, when the postman arrived with a box, once she spotted it she exclaimed "Its the baby"....

I think she is slightly confused about the term "delivering the baby"

Spent part of the weekend down in Red Hook. Its a nice, quiet, and as yet relatively undiscovered part of Brooklyn. Though I don't think that will last. There is an Ikea opening this year in the area. Although that in itself will not lead to an influx of people living in the area, it will certainly vastly increase the amounnt of traffic .

A real shame ..
There is a great bakery down in this neighbourhood called Baked. It's where we got Izzy's birthday cake from last year. Stopped in on Saturday to by her a "Red Velvet Fairy Cake". It was a huge hit.

Where did the weekend go......It's incredible, no sooner are we getting up on Saturday to start the weekend, than its Izzy's bath and bedtime...I suppose the fact that we are busy most of the day is a factor.

Same again on Sunday and that's it, back to work....

And this is likely to be the last weekend when its just the three of us.....

Lights down low....early night.

Izzy has had trouble sleeping and been a little ill in the night. The result, is that we are all really exhausted...

Caroline is tired anyway carrying baby deux....so this dosen't help. But it's impossible not to smile, even at 3.a.m since Isabelle apologises and offers to help clean up when she has been unwell! Its very sweet.

Left work a little early today since I had been working late last night. I seem to struggle to actually get out of the office even when I have made up my mind to leave early.

Its noticable though, you can tell when you are ahead of the crowd. The subway was empty, relatively speaking. I think the rush hour starts later in NY (a both ends of the day). The busiest subway trains seem to be those arriving in town in the morning at around 9.30am onwards and then those leaving around 6pm. It seems to be slighty behind the typical rush hour I remember in London.....

Giant Parade in town today celebrating the return to NY of the Superbowl Champions...I won't go as far as saying they are World Champions, since it's not really a world tournament...but that's an argument for a drunken night at the pub.

1000's of people turned up. We were fortunate enough that the parade passed right infront of our office....so we did not have far to travel.
The noise was immense. For those a little in the dark, that's Eli Manning, Giants Quarterback. With Mayor Bloomberg along for the ride.

Stop Bothering Me.....

This is what Sunday is all about....

Lazing around in the sunshine. Only one slight difference...this fella does not appear to have a little cub running around.....Or maybe he does and the little'un kept him up all night...

Either way he looks like he's getting some well earned rest.

Izzy loved the zoo, which is where we spent Sunday morning. She really adores the fresh air and adventures. The zoo is in Central Park and is pretty surreal located in the middle of Manhattan.

He's the Man...Giants Win Superbowl. Unbelievable. I don't think many thought they could actually do it. There were many people dreaming it was possible, but fewer who really thought it would actually happen.

Outstanding game, right down to the wire. I think there may be a good buzz in the city tomorrow. There certainly should be...

Swimming, hot chocolate and bagels in the morning.....At 9.30, Izzy and I will take a dip in the Water Angel's class. Then head for hot chocolate and a doughnut or bagel...

By 11 am, we are both exhausted ....It's a great start to the weekend and she loves the pool.....

Mummy can take some time out at home. Granny arrived yesterday and its an understatement to say Isabelle was a little excited !!!
